It’s Hot, So Let’s Go Out: July 26-July 28

Thursday July 26th

Outdoor movie: Head over to Villa Medici for their Cinéma en plein air series (ending tomorrow night). Tonight they are screening La grande abbuffata by Marco Ferreri (1973).
Where: Villa Medici - Viale Trinità dei Monti, 1
When: 9 PM (area opens to public at 8 PM)
Cost: 5 euros

The Beach Boys: The group is back together, without original drummer of course, and playing in Rome tonight as part of their 50th Anniversary tour. 50 years, woah. I still remember them back in the day, playing with Uncle Jesse in the Tanner’s basement.
Where: Ippodromo delle Capannelle - Via Appia Nuova, 1255
When: 9:30 PM
Cost: 45 euros

Friday July 27th

Outdoor Movies: Friday night’s got two options for outdoor cinema: the documentary, Bobby Fischer Against the World (Liz Garbus – 2011), and a French film with Italian subtitles, Non ma fille tu n’iras pas danser (Christophe Honore - 2009).
Bobby Fischer film is playing at Roma Vintage, starting at 9 PM and costs 5 euros.
The French film is playing at Villa Medici, starting at 9 PM and costs 5 euros.

Ronin: If you feel like listening to a unique Italian band, head over to Pigneto on Friday night. Ronin, a rock instrumental band, has been making music for over a decade, and I gotta say, it sounds pretty funky. It’s like listening to a soundtrack from the wild west, sorta. Give their tunes a listen on MySpace.
Where: Pigneto Spazio Aperto - Parco del Torrione Prenestino
When: 10:00 PM
Cost: 5 euros

Saturday July 28th

Rebel Rebel: Still haven’t been to one of Rebel Rebel’s parties? Apparently, this Saturday night they are hosting house and techno’s experimental genius Âme. From the looks of YouTube videos, this guy is pretty pretty popular…
Where: Circolo Andrea Doria - Via del Baiardo 26
When: 11:45 PM until very late!
Cost: not sure
For more info, check out the Facebook invite, or Rebel Rebel’s site.

Litfiba: A Florentine band playing since the 80′s, Litfiba hits the stage in Rome’s summer concert series. Not exactly my rock-cup-of-tea, but they are very popular in Italy.
Where: Ippodromo delle Capannelle - Via Appia Nuova, 1255
When: 9:30 PM
Cost: 30 euros
