Where in Rome is Cardinal San Domenico?

After the dust settled, the blood drained from the virtual arena, and the ravenous roars of the crowd dissipated into the Roman eve, one champion stood alone. Sweat tickling down her spine and a forlorn gaze in her eyes, racked by terror and strife, she heaved a laden sigh. “How can I continue,” she rasped aloud to the empty stands. “How can I continue, when I have felled so many? And to what end?” The piercing warble of a starling attracted her attention upwards, and there, at the top of the amphitheater, she saw the banner unfurl:

“Eternity,” she whispered, as her fuscina slipped from her fingers and she kneeled, exhausted, exalted, to the sand.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, after a long, hard-fought battle “hannah segrave” has emerged as the first champion of Where in Rome is Cardinal San Domenico? A special shout-out goes to “codecables” who had a go, but unfortunately his/her guess of Via San Damaso wasn’t quite accurate enough. Here’s the link to the original post, and search Via Nicolò Piccolomini on GoogleMaps to see where you can enjoy this beautiful view.

As promised, our champion will receive a Peroni Grande courtesy of me upon her arrival in Rome in June.

Without further ado, let’s move on to the next installment of Where in Rome is Cardinal San Domenico? after the jump:

Note: San Domenico wasn’t actually a Cardinal. Elton John’s real name is Reginald Kenneth Dwight, so, you know, whatever.
