Word of the Day: Scoiattolo

Chances are you will never use today’s word, scoiattolo, in Italy. Why? Because there aren’t any squirrels in Italy. At least I’ve never seen one here before…

Pronounced skoˈjattolo – in fancy pronunciation writing – it is the Italian word for squirrel. Like I said, this word doesn’t have much use for us expats in Rome/Italy, but it sure is fun to say!
